Things are changing around here....
I've been in the midst of a studio makeover for quite some time now. I am very fortunate to have a room of my own. This room was once my daughters room. When it was her space it was filled with the sound of girls laughing, the phone ringing, Madonna singing and the silence of a child who reads for hours on end. It is a sunny room, filled with a radiant light from dawn till dusk.
This has been a very satisfying art project. I can even say thrilling. It reflects my belief that some of the best of life is lived in the details, the seeming minutiae that we often don't even register in our minds. I love when i give myself over to being wholly myself. I flourish in every way when i am living my art.
This sweet little bird was made by Martha. When i saw her wearing that perfect acorn bonnet i knew i must invite her home with me. She said "yes" at once and i do believe she will be quite happy living amongst all of us birds here at the nest.
Where are you most able to be your authentic self? Where do you find refuge from other people's ideas of who you are?
