There are a lot of talented writer's out here in blogland and some of them have had the good fortune of being 'discovered' by 'real life' book publishers. I am referring to 'hold it in your hands' type books. I can think of three people right off the top of my head.
Maryam over at My Marrakesh has accepted a book deal from Artisan Books that is "part memoir and part Moroccan design treatise". It will be out in 2009. Maryam is as humble as ever and delighted to celebrate her good fortune with her blogging friends.
Then there is Tara from Paris Parfait who i wrote about on this post. It is her photography that is in high demand for the book she will be working on. Go Tara!
Alicia Paulson from Posey Gets Cozy has a book she completed this year titled Stitched In Time. It is all about her original and amazing sewing projects. Anyone who visits Alicia's website knows she is a crafting goddess and an excellent writer. I recently told her that her blog reads like a good novel. Clicking on a link takes you to a chapter, click again for another chapter, all from the same book: 'Living Alicia's Life.' It is one of the best novels i've read this year and it isn't even make believe.
And there are many more individuals that may not yet have offers for book deals but are certainly worthy of that honor. Debi over at emma tree doesn't yet realize she has the makings of an author. She still thinks she is writing a blog. Her friends however are of another opinion. They believe she has a novel in her just waiting to be born.
then there's me...
Most of my creative projects that are for public viewing are a mélange of reality, bits of fantasy, a dollop of wishful thinking and then at times i tell some downright good lies.
See that crowned person holding that knife below? That's me. You are getting a sneak peek of this exclusive, newly revised, 2nd edition of my previously titled book: The Queen's Academy Of Cooking. It was a straight up bestseller during it's heyday. I decided to re-release it since i now have my personally syndicated Tasty Tweets TV Show. You say you haven't heard of that show? Oh you don't want to miss it! it was wildy popular during it's season .... among its' 3 followers. Admittedly it had a kind of abbreviated season. But you can find links to the ...uh..... two and 1/2 shows that were taped this past year in my category list at right.
My thinking here with the book deal was prompted when a request was made 'off blog' for a recipe i had mentioned. It just dawned on me all in a flash!! and i said to myself; "A Tasty Tweets Show Companion Book might just have a chance of making it on to the NY Times Top 10 Cookbook List!" "Go for it!"
So here's my start. You have the opportunity to offer editorial comments on the book concept and cover design. And for your trouble i am offering a free introductory recipe for that self-same pink pie. Such a deal!
What is the title for the book you have buried within your own writing heart?
